We set off to golf at St Anne's old links looking forward to 18 holes in the sun, on arrival there was a lot of people about which was a little unusual for a Monday. It soon come to light they were not there to see me play golf but the hero's of England's 1966 World Cup Winning Squad, Bobby/Jack Charlton, Nobby Stiles, Martin Peters, Roger Hunt, Gordon Banks, Ray Wilson, Geoff Hurst, Norman Hunter, Peter Bonneti, Ian Callaghan, Ron Flowers and local hero Jimmy Armfield. It was lovely to be able to chat to some of the players in a relaxed atmosphere, real gentleman.
